General Scope of Project
Neighbors Emergency Center, out of Texas, commissioned n|e|m|d architects, inc. to renovate an existing 6,000 SF retail space located on a commercial corridor into a 24 hour/7 day a week freestanding Emergency Center as their first facility in Rhode Island. n|e|m|d’s team crafted creative design solutions to fit the normally 10,000 SF program into the building’s available space without losing the spacious footprint at the center. The facility includes a Reception and Waiting room, Triage, six Treatment rooms, X-Ray and CT, as well as typical support spaces.
n|e|m|d also overcame the challenge of the building’s fully glazed exterior with the incorporation of interior walls. This keeps the exterior façade while creating an interior shell suitable for exam and treatment rooms. All new interior finishes were brought to life with Neighbors’ standards. The site also incorporates new canopy awnings and a new parking layout.
