General Scope of Project
n|e|m|d architects has a long standing relationship with the Ronald McDonald House of Providence. Beginning in 2002, an expansion for the house was designed which included new guest rooms, an enlarged kitchen, improved handicapped accessibility, adding an elevator and providing larger rooms with accessible bathrooms. In 2010, n|e|m|d converted part of the resident assistant apartment, which added two new guest rooms. In 2013, n|e|m|d was hired to design a major addition (5,250 sf) and an expansion of all two story spaces to three stories. Existing guest rooms were renovated and an additional nine new rooms were included in the expansion design. Additional space was configured to be used for a day use program which allows families seeking room and board while their children receive medical treatment at nearby facilities but may not need overnight accommodations.
